PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fabio Marques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Rude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marques might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to mosh. Rude has chosen confetti falling as The Ravishing One struts down the isle in a glittery pu as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marques throws a body shot but no joy.
Marques takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Rude bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rude fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rude throws a series of punches but Marques avoids them all with ease.
Marques went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
A combination from Marques does no damage.
Rude appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Good standup being displayed there by Rude as he connects with a hook.

It looks like Fabio Marques has been cut.
Marques misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rude lands with a right hand.
A jab from Rude finds it's way through Marques's defenses.
Marques has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marques misses with the combination.
Rude throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rude has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A telegraphed right hand from Rude misses the target.
Marques is looking to counter punch.
Marques walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rude just misses with a punch to the body.
Rude lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Marques walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Fabio Marques's cut is getting worse.
Rude misses with a left hand
and Marques makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Marques throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rude counters with a nice uppercut.
A combination from Marques does no damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Marques gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marques moves out of range as Rude strikes.
Rude cracks a nice hook into Marques's ribs.
Marques swings away with a body shot that misses
letting Rude counter with a right hand.

Oooooh!!! Rude has knocked Marques down with a huge combo! Rude steps away and waves a wobbly Marques back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Marques is rocked!
Rude walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Marques drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Rude swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Marques's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
