Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kekoa Tama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Tama's choice of entrance music: Ready For War by Daizer The One. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kekoa Tama!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tama doesn't manage to clinch there - Kane circles away.
Tama fails in his attempt to clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kane wants to stand but Tama is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kekoa Tama dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Tama feints and as Kane raises his hands in defense, Tama changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Tama gets to his feet - Kane follows without any prompting.
Kane avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kane gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Tama working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kane manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tama is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kane pushes Tama off looking to stand but Tama dives back in and keeps control.
Tama working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Tama wants to take a breather but Kane is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

David Kane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kekoa Tama.

Kane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Tama tries to roll over but Kane keeps him under control.
Kane blocks the strikes from Tama.

Kane wants to work for an arm triangle but Tama is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tama throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Tama manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kane manages to get himself to full guard.
Kane keeping moving, preventing Tama from controlling successfully.
Kane has his hands on Tama's head, controlling the position.
Kane is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kane controls Tama momentarily but Tama frees himself.

Tama stands up and waves to Kane to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kekoa Tama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Kane tries to free his leg and advance position but Tama is retaining full guard.
Tama is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Tama is tying to control. Kane wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Kane knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tama on the ground.

Tama seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kane does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Horrible takedown by Tama or perhaps it was just good defense by Kane which made him look bad.

David Kane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kekoa Tama.

Tama is refusing to be controlled, as Kane sits in half guard.

Kekoa Tama is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Tama had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kane is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tama Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kane's back instead.

I really don't envy Kane right now.
Tama is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Tama gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Tama gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Tama apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Kane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tama but Tama pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tama shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kane pinned against the cage. Kane gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tama throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Kane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tama but Tama pushes him off and we're back to square one.
David Kane is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Kane counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tama's guard now.

David Kane showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Tama has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
