Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between spark plug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, spark plug!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Smith!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith defending well as plug loads up on a big left hand.

plug shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than plug was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

plug with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
plug throws some wild stikes that Smith manages to avoid easily.
Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but plug has a good base and remains in mount.
Smith is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Smith holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as plug tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

plug takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, plug cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

plug goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Smith turns into him and now he's in plug's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. plug swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
plug throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.

plug tries to improve his position but instead Smith has taken his back!
plug rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Smith passes to full mount!
Smith prevents plug from getting the reversal.

and Smith counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
plug looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Smith puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

BOOM! Smith connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Smith manages to capitalize on a mistake by plug to take his back!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
plug sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Smith's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
plug is stalling here. Smith is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! plug seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Smith has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

plug tries to lock up and control but Smith gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Smith has the hooks in. plug is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

plug bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
