Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rolf Nolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rolf Nolan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ethan Ross!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross shoots in for a takedown but Nolan shows good takedown defense.

Ross pushes Nolan up against the cage in a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Nolan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Nolan is trying to force a seperation but Ross has the dominant position.
Nolan is trying to break free.
Nolan is trying to stall.
Nolan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ross just stands there and leans against the cage.

Nolan is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ross is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Nolan to the mat. Nolan regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Ross is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Nolan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ross must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ross decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nolan, up you get!
Ross tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nolan swivels and escapes.
Ross looks for a takedown but Nolan sprawls well.
Rolf Nolan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ethan Ross.
Ross tries to land a front kick but Nolan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Nolan throws a head kick but Ross moves out of range.
Ross misses with a takedown attempt - Nolan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Ross gets a takedown into half guard.
Nolan trying to control but Ross postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nolan blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ross.
Nolan looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ross sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Ross seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Nolan wants to improve his position but Ross is controlling well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nolan fails to land the takedown.
Ross misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nolan throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ross shoots for a double leg takedown but Nolan sprawls well. He's pushed Ross's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ross will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ross shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nolan as he avoids it easily.
Nolan is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Ross looks winded!

Nolan clinches up with Ross and pushes him back against the cage.
Nolan has had enough of the clinch but Ross keeps him there for the moment.

Ross pulls guard.
Nolan content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Ross utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Ross escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nolan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nolan wants to stand but Ross has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ethan Ross dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Ross instigates a clinch.
Nolan taking a breather.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Nolan looking to slow down the pace here.

Ross manages to break the clinch.
Nolan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ross tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Nolan defends well and Ross ends up having to push Nolan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nolan dives in and grabs Ross's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ross pushes down on Nolan's head and hops out.
Ross misses with a left hand
and Nolan counters with a head kick. That will keep Ross thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Ross gets a double leg takedown into Nolan's guard.
Nolan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Nolan is working hard here to advance position.
Ross is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nolan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ross postures up.
Ross wants to control from the top but Nolan keeps moving.
Ross distracts Nolan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ross trying to control but Nolan is working from the bottom.
Ross slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ross closes the distance and clinches.

Ross turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Nolan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ross swings around for an armbar but Nolan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ross's guard.
Nolan stops Ross from standing up.
Ross is breathing heavily.
Nolan throwing strikes but missing.
Ross looking to control but Nolan passes into half guard.

Nolan stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ross dives in for a single leg takedown but Nolan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Rolf Nolan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nolan throws a sloppy head kick and Ross moves out of range easily.
Ross avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ross.
Nolan appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Rolf Nolan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ethan Ross.

and Nolan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Nolan wants to get back to striking at distance but Ross won't allow it.

Nolan manages to break the clinch.
A punch combination from Nolan misses.
Ross throws a push kick but Nolan slaps the foot to one side.

Nolan fails with the takedown.
Nolan throws a wild body kick that Ross sees coming a mile off.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ross! But no joy.
Ross shoots for a takedown but Nolan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ross gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Nolan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ross's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nolan postures up and lands a big shot to Ross's brow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rolf Nolan will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Nolan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nolan wants it to stay on the feet.
Nolan appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Nolan - that will leave a mark!

Ross takes the fight into the clinch.
Nolan wants to stall.
Nolan is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Nolan has a couple of punches blocked by Ross.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Ross as Nolan tries to tie him up.

Ross gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Nolan is trying to stand up here but Ross is controlling him well.
Ross wants to control but Nolan is keeping him busy.

Ross is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Ross takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ross works his way into side control.
Nolan wants to get back to his feet.

Nolan takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Ross is trying to get an arm triangle but Nolan is defending well.
Nolan is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ross has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Ross trying to control the position but Nolan is working away.
Ross has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nolan is trying to get back to half guard.
Nolan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ross asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ross drives through and clinches with Nolan against the cage.
Nolan throws an elbow that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ross jumps guard.
Nolan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ross works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ross controls Nolan momentarily but Nolan frees himself.
Ross looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Nolan tries to stand but Ross is controlling from the bottom.
Ross is trying to keep Nolan in close.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nolan won't allow Ross to sweep him here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ethan Ross comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ross has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
