Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Corbin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Salas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Corbin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xavier Salas!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corbin wants to clinch.

Corbin gets caught flat footed, as Salas shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Salas stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Salas shoots in looking for a takedown. Corbin tries to sprawl out of it but Salas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Corbin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Corbin doesn't manage to clinch there - Salas circles away.
Salas closes the distance and clinches up with Corbin, looking for a takedown. Salas pushes Corbin against the cage but Corbin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Corbin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Salas counters by moving into the clinch.

Corbin decides to pull guard.
Salas's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Salas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Salas is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Salas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Salas works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Salas frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Salas controlling the position easily from mount.
Salas fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Salas controlling from the full mount.
Salas breaks from Corbin's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Salas working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Salas cracks Corbin with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Salas looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Salas looking to control and managing it successfully.

Salas has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Corbin's face.


Corbin is rocked!
Salas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Corbin in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Salas jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Corbin manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Corbin is working to avoid the ground and pound but Salas connects with a decent elbow.
Salas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Salas scores with a couple of short elbows.

Salas tries for a kimura but Corbin is defending well.
Corbin takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Salas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Corbin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Corbin is letting Salas control him for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Corbin moves out of range as Salas strikes.
Corbin tries a head kick but it misses.

Salas with a strong takedown there and he's ended up in side control.
Corbin is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Salas is controlling him well.

Salas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Corbin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Salas looks up at the clock and then as Corbin takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Salas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Salas decides to stand back up. Salas steps back and let's Corbin get back to his feet.
Salas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Corbin tries to avoid it but Salas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Corbin to the ground. Corbin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Salas fails with a takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Corbin is looking to clinch.
Salas avoids the head kick by Corbin.
Salas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Corbin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Salas somewhat.
Jack Corbin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier Salas.
Salas is breathing heavily.
Corbin tries to clinch but Salas is having none of it.
Salas drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Corbin defends it well.
Corbin lands a head kick. Salas smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Salas keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Corbin's head.
Salas slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Salas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Salas with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Salas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Corbin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Salas controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Salas forces his way into half guard.

Salas is working for a submission of some sort.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Corbin is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Xavier Salas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Salas darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Salas decides to stand up.
Salas misses with a series of wild punches.
Xavier Salas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Salas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Corbin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Corbin is trying to control Salas's posture but Salas avoids it.
Salas wants to control but Corbin is keeping him busy.
Salas grinds an elbow into Corbin's temple.
Corbin is looking to reverse the position.

Salas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Corbin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
A lull in the action here as Salas stalls from top position.
The adventures of Salas the control monster continue. Boring.
Corbin tries to improve position but can't.
Salas taking a breather here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Salas stands up.
Salas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Corbin circles away quickly and effectively.
Corbin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Salas.
Salas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Salas shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Corbin but Corbin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The fight stays on the outside here - Corbin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Salas is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Corbin goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Salas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Corbin as he jumps to the side.

Corbin looks for a takedown but Salas sprawls well.

Salas wants to counter with a clinch but Corbin pushes him away.
Salas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Jack Corbin has been cut.

Salas manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Corbin on his heels. He'll look to pass Corbin's guard now, I'm sure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Xavier Salas is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Corbin is trying to escape the position but Salas is controlling the position.

I've got Salas winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
