And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ewen misses with a straight right.
Kartal has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Ewen throws a jab but it's blocked by Kartal.
Ewen misses with a lunging right hand
and Kartal counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ground and pound from Kartal.
Ewen has hold of Kartal's hands but Kartal slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kartal stops Ewen from getting back to his feet.
Kartal has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kartal landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Kartal tries to pass to full mount but Ewen defends it.
Ewen tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Kartal has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Kartal lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Kartal landing strikes from the mount and Ewen is in trouble!
Ewen is rocked!
Ewen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ewen tries to get out of the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kartal has isolated one of Ewen's arms. Ewen looking to fight him off but Kartal twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Demir Kartal!
A relieved looking Demir Kartal thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Phil Ewen had this to say: 'We don't do walking away - not where I'm from. That's a good man I met here - he came looking for a scrap. He came to fight and so did I - tonight just happened to be his night. Round of applause for my opponent and a round of whisky if you please.'.
