Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Kai.
Kai pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Minuano fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kai darts in looking for a takedown but Minuano gets double underhooks and turns Kai into the cage.
Minuano misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Kai counters with a single leg into guard. Minuano didn't expect that.
Kai scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Kai controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
It looks like Kai might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Kai works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kai tries to pass to full mount but Minuano defends it.

Kai is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kai is controlling the pace.
Kai missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kai is looking for a kimura but Minuano is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kai to get the leverage.
Kai in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Minuano tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kai!
