Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamalainen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Matrix defends well and Hamalainen ends up having to push Matrix into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Matrix lands a nice looking kick to the body. Hamalainen takes a step back to recover.
Hamalainen fails with the takedown
and Matrix counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Hamalainen takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Hamalainen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Matrix as he jumps to the side.
John Matrix has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Niilo Hamalainen.
Hamalainen fails with the takedown.
Matrix goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Matrix works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Niilo Hamalainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice leg kick lands there from Matrix.
Matrix stuffs the takedown attempt from Hamalainen. Hamalainen gets slowly back to his feet.
Matrix scores with a spinning back kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hamalainen shoots in for a double leg but Matrix sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Matrix lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Hamalainen looks winded!
Matrix throws a nice inside leg kick.

Matrix works the jab nicely.
Matrix's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hamalainen under the eye.
Matrix's corner calls for a 1-2. Matrix obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hamalainen is rocked!
A slapping leg kick lands for Matrix.
Hamalainen is still on wobbly legs! Can Matrix finish him?
Hamalainen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Hamalainen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hamalainen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hamalainen seems to have recovered his senses.
Matrix feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hamalainen sprawling to the canvas! Hamalainen rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Matrix finish him?!
It looks like Matrix has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Matrix lands a jab to Hamalainen's midsection.

Hamalainen wants to clinch but Matrix slips to the side
and Matrix makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Hamalainen has his takedown stuffed
and Matrix makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Matrix lands a big head kick that sends Hamalainen tumbling to the mat! Matrix takes a step backwards and waves Hamalainen back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Hamalainen has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Matrix, right into the meat.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hamalainen walks straight into a right hand from Matrix - that's dropped him! Matrix jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Hamalainen from any more punishment! Hamalainen complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). John Matrix!
