Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Horus Chakti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hickson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva has chosen Sandstorm as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to clinch but Chakti is having none of it.

Chakti looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Silva is doing well to control the position and prevent Chakti from advancing to side control.

Silva manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Silva is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Silva is squirming around, avoiding Chakti's attempts to control the action.

Chakti's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Chakti wants to control the action but instead Silva gets a body lock and reverses into Chakti's guard! Nice work!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Chakti trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chakti is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva, into his guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Chakti closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Chakti is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Chakti is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Silva regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Chakti.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Horus Chakti just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Chakti throws some wild stikes that Silva manages to avoid easily.
Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Silva really wants to buck Chakti off and get back to his feet.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Chakti controlling the pace for now.

Chakti stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Chakti feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Silva is trying to control the position but Chakti postures up.

Chakti wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position.

That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Silva with a poor takedown

and Chakti counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Silva throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Chakti escapes and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Chakti stands up and beckons Silva to his feet.
Hickson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chakti darts in and clinches Silva up against the cage.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Chakti decides to pull guard.
Silva content to stall in guard here.

Chakti keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.

Chakti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Chakti working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Chakti throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Chakti wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Chakti forces Silva back against the cage and clinches.
Horus Chakti is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chakti wants to break free but Silva has control.

Chakti is working for takedown but Silva is calmly controlling the position for now.
Silva tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Chakti has hold of one of Silva's legs. Silva is fighting the takedown attempt but Chakti gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Silva has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chakti is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chakti's back instead.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Chakti has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
