The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Esson throws a left that rocks Hatton and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Esson dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Hatton regain composure!

Esson is looking to take a break and control but Hatton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Esson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Hatton drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Esson defends it well.
Murray Esson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Esson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hatton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hatton tries to free his leg and advance position but Esson is retaining full guard.
Hatton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Esson's guard.
Esson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Esson.
Hatton passes Esson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Esson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hatton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hatton is sitting in close to Esson's body. Esson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Hatton is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Hatton is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Esson.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Murray Esson!
