Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taufiqul Haq (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Gunnar McGregor has been cut.

Haq gets through McGregor's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
McGregor swings wildly with an uppercut but Haq uses good head movement to avoid it.

Haq gets control of McGregor's arms and successfully pulls guard. Haq will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
McGregor is looking to work some ground and pound but Haq has wrist control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Haq looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

We've been informed that Haq has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Haq.
McGregor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Haq's waist but Haq gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McGregor off to one side.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Haq! But no joy.

McGregor dives in for a single leg takedown but Haq sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
McGregor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Haq tries to avoid it but McGregor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Haq to the ground. Haq escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Haq goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Taufiqul Haq seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McGregor has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Haq avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

McGregor drops his hands momentarily and Haq takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Haq darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Haq is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McGregor had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
McGregor dives in for a single leg takedown but Haq sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
McGregor has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Haq finds it's way round the side to connect with McGregor's head.
McGregor walks into a straight right hand from Haq.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Haq thuds his right hand into McGregor's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Oh McGregor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McGregor walks straight into a right hand from Haq - that's dropped him! Haq jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save McGregor from any more punishment! McGregor complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
