Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marc Andre Leisson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Angel Suarez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leisson tries to clinch up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Leisson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Leisson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Suarez's calf.
Leisson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Leisson clinches.

Leisson breaks from the clinch.
Leisson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Suarez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Leisson but Leisson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Leisson lands with a nice combination. Suarez backs away looking to recover.
Leisson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Leisson throws a head kick that misses.
Leisson tries a head kick but it misses.

Suarez scores a takedown into full mount!
Leisson is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Suarez stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Leisson misses with a head kick.
Suarez takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Leisson closes the distance and clinches.
Leisson is trying to break free.

Leisson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Suarez slips a jab and a cross from Leisson.
Leisson throws a sloppy head kick and Suarez moves out of range easily.
Leisson wants to clinch up but Suarez keeps it at a distance.

Suarez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Suarez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
You can see the frustration on Leisson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee asks Suarez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Suarez prefers to stall for the moment though.

Suarez thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Suarez wants to control but Leisson is keeping him busy.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Leisson is pressing down on Suarez's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Leisson can't keep his opponent in guard - Suarez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Leisson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Suarez's head.
Leisson throws a sloppy head kick and Suarez moves out of range easily.
Suarez closes the distance and clinches up with Leisson, looking for a takedown. Suarez pushes Leisson against the cage but Leisson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Leisson is looking to slow Suarez down with leg kicks.

Marc Andre Leisson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suarez takes a head kick and keeps coming.

and Leisson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Leisson.
Leisson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

It looks like Angel Suarez has been cut.

Leisson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Leisson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

and Suarez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Leisson's guard now.
Suarez wants to stand but Leisson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Leisson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Leisson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Suarez is desperately trying to improve his position but Leisson has a good base and remains in mount.

Leisson with shots to the head and body - Suarez looks very uncomfortable down there.
Leisson lands a big shot there that rocks Suarez but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Leisson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Suarez is looking to escape.
Leisson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Suarez on the ground.

Poor strikes thrown by Leisson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Leisson cracks Suarez with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Suarez really wants to buck Leisson off and get back to his feet.

and Suarez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Suarez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Suarez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Leisson's waist but Leisson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Suarez off to one side.

Suarez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Suarez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Leisson is trying to keep Suarez in close.
Leisson is pulling down on Suarez's head. It's preventing any offense from Suarez, at least for the moment.
Leisson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Leisson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Suarez counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Suarez prevents Leisson from improving his position.
Leisson trying to get back to full guard but Suarez takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Angel Suarez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Suarez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Suarez is working for a guillotine from mount but Leisson frees his head quite easily.

Suarez avoids the attempt from Leisson to control.

Suarez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Leisson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Leisson!

I think Suarez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
