The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doyle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hudley is fending him off so far but Doyle persists. Nope, Hudley circles away and we're back to standing.
Hudley throws a right and a left that Doyle avoids nicely.

Hudley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hudley has picked Doyle up - he's going for a ride! Hudley dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hudley connects with a nice short shot to Doyle's temple.

Doyle is desperately trying to improve his position but Hudley has a good base and remains in mount.
Doyle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Doyle is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hudley's half guard.

Hudley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Doyle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hudley fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Doyle avoids it really well and circles away.

Doyle tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hudley just stands there and leans against the cage.

Doyle throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Hudley has Doyle pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Doyle manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
