Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, NiShagu Nazad!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gravel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Gravel swings around for an armbar but Nazad sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gravel's guard.
Gravel keeping full guard, as Nazad tries to pass.
Nazad passes Gravel's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gravel is breathing heavily.
Nazad is controlling the pace.
Nazad tries to pass to full mount but Gravel defends it.
Gravel is not content to let Nazad control the position.
Nazad sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gravel won't allow Nazad to pass to mount.
Nazad winds up and cracks Gravel with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Nazad is trying to control the action in half guard but Gravel is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Nazad is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Nazad prevents Gravel from improving his position.
Well, if Nazad is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Gravel is staying active underneath Nazad, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gravel is defending against the submission attempts here by Nazad.
Nazad wants to take a breather but Gravel is having none of it.

Despite being in the dominant position, NiShagu Nazad just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nazad is looking for a kimura but Gravel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nazad to get the leverage.
Gravel is not content to let Nazad control the position.

Gravel has one foot on Nazad's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Gravel gets caught flat footed, as Nazad shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Nazad drops back looking for a leg! Gravel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gravel manages to kick Nazad off! Nazad jumps back into Gravel's guard.

Nazad drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gravel manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nazad has Gravel in his guard.

Nazad looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Nazad working for a triangle but Gravel defends it easily.

Gravel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nazad looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gravel is one step ahead there.
Gravel postures up in Nazad's guard and throws a big left but Nazad blocks it.

Nazad is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Gravel has his hands clasped together but Nazad extends an breaks Gravel's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Nazad.
