Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luis Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Gilbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza gets caught flat footed, as Gilbert shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Gilbert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mendoza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gilbert must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Mendoza manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Mendoza goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Mendoza lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Gilbert wants to take the fight to the mat but Mendoza manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Mendoza is pressed up against the cage. Gilbert has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mendoza down to the mat. Mendoza avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
