Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Demarcus Stephens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doc Shearer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shearer comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Big Sean kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Demarcus Stephens is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doc Shearer !

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shearer misses with a two punch combination.
Stephens is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Shearer .


It looks like Demarcus Stephens has been cut.
Shearer misses with a double jab.
Shearer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stephens throws a big counter combination but Shearer scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Stephens forces Shearer back against the cage and clinches.
Stephens prevents Shearer from breaking the clinch.
Shearer is trying to break the clinch but Stephens is controlling him.
Shearer wants to break the clinch but can't.

Shearer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Shearer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Stephens takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Shearer throws a head kick but Stephens moves out of range.
Shearer connects with the punch.

Stephens clinches up with Shearer and pushes him back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shearer tries to circle away but Stephens has him pinned against the cage.
Stephens keeps control of Shearer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Stephens's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shearer cracks the inside of Stephens's front leg.

Stephens has Shearer up against the cage in a clinch.

Stephens escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shearer wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Doc Shearer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shearer throws a nice outside leg kick.
Shearer misses with the combination.
Stephens takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Stephens takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Shearer throws out a powerful jab.


Stephens is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stephens showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Shearer .
Stephens feinted with a counter takedown.
Oh Stephens is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Doc Shearer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stephens fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shearer , pushing him back against the cage.
Stephens seems to have got his legs back now.

Stephens has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shearer uses from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shearer wants to stand and escape but instead Stephens has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Stephens chips away with some ground and pound.

Stephens stands up and waves to Shearer to follow him.

Shearer lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Stephens has Shearer pressed against the cage, preventing Shearer from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Stephens manages to break the clinch.
Shearer throws a right and a left that Stephens avoids nicely.
Shearer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shearer avoids the head kick by Stephens.
Shearer misses with a wild combination.
An attempted straight right counter from Stephens misses the target.
Shearer scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Shearer throws a left and a right that both miss
and Shearer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Shearer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
It looked like Stephens was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Stephens's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shearer connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Stephens scrambles back to his feet.

The cut man is working on Demarcus Stephens's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Shearer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stephens looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Stephens counters with a nice double leg into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stephens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Stephens stands up from Shearer 's guard - Stephens perhaps looking for a knockout.

Stephens instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stephens decides to pull guard.
Shearer tries to stand but Stephens is controlling from the bottom.

Stephens seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Shearer wants to stand but Stephens has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Stephens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shearer 's guard.


Stephens stands up from guard. Let's bang!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shearer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stephens was well out of range. Poor timing from Shearer .
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Shearer , as that shot connected.
Shearer has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A head kick misses from Shearer .
Shearer looks to land a body kick but Stephens moved away.
Stephens went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Shearer misses with a two punch combination.
Shearer is looking to slow Stephens down with leg kicks.
Stephens tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Shearer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Shearer lands with a nice body punch.

Stephens scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Shearer is breathing heavily.

Stephens decides to stand back up. Stephens steps back and let's Shearer get back to his feet.
Shearer throws a series of punches but Stephens avoids them all with ease.
Stephens closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Shearer lands with an overhand left.
Stephens takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Stephens clinches up with Shearer and pushes him back against the cage.
Stephens's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Shearer is trying to push Stephens away but Stephens has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Stephens prevents Shearer from breaking the clinch.
Shearer wants to break the clinch but can't.
Stephens is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shearer pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Stephens gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Shearer regains guard.
Stephens lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Stephens stands up and waves to Shearer to follow him.
Stephens avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Stephens wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Stephens showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Shearer .
Stephens takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Demarcus Stephens will probably get the nod.

Shearer is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Stephens has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Shearer is trying to keep an underhook but Stephens manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Stephens stands up and beckons Shearer to join him on the feet.

Stephens fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shearer , pushing him back against the cage.

Stephens breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Stephens dodges the punch combination from Shearer .
Stephens appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Stephens throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shearer 's waist but Shearer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stephens off to one side.
Shearer throws a fast counter high kick but Stephens manages to duck under it in time.

Stephens throws a big counter combination but Shearer scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Nice straight punches there by Shearer . You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Shearer .

Demarcus Stephens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Shearer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Stephens looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Stephens is working for a kimura but Shearer is defending it quite comfortably.

Stephens gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
No joy there for Shearer , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shearer dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Stephens. That did some damage!

Stephens has managed to clinch.
Shearer tries to circle away but Stephens has him pinned against the cage.

Stephens breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shearer misses with a two punch combination.
It looked like Stephens was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Shearer .

Stephens dives in and scores a takedown into Shearer 's guard.
Stephens chips away with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stephens gets to his feet. Shearer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Shearer scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Stephens takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Shearer throws a nice looking combination but Stephens bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stephens tries to clinch but Shearer moves out of range.
Shearer scores with a body shot.
Stephens tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice uppercut there from Shearer .
Shearer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stephens tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shearer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stephens checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Doc Shearer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Shearer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Doc Shearer decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
