Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Craig Stadelbauer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Rowles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stadelbauer comes to the cage accompanied by 311-Brodles. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Rowles!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stadelbauer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Stadelbauer prevents Rowles from getting the reversal.
Stadelbauer looking to control but Rowles is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rowles is in all sorts of trouble here.

Stadelbauer is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rowles has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Rowles wants to control but Stadelbauer is having none of it.
Stadelbauer misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Stadelbauer is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rowles has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rowles!

Rowles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stadelbauer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Rowles is trying desperately to improve position.

Stadelbauer has control of Rowles's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rowles regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Stadelbauer is breathing heavily.
Stadelbauer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rowles is looking to escape.
Rowles is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rowles is working to get back to half guard.
Rowles slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Stadelbauer avoids a kick to the body.
Rowles lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Rowles keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rowles lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Stadelbauer at a distance.

Stadelbauer misses with a shot to the body
letting Rowles counter with a right hand.
Stadelbauer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rowles sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Stadelbauer takes the fight into the clinch.

Stadelbauer turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Stadelbauer throws a head kick but Rowles moves out of range.
Stadelbauer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rowles pinned against the cage. Rowles gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rowles throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Stadelbauer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rowles's guard now.
Stadelbauer looking to sit in guard and control but Rowles gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Stadelbauer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rowles is one step ahead there.

Stadelbauer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rowles forces his way into half guard.

Well, if Rowles is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Stadelbauer tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rowles has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Rowles takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Stadelbauer tries to escape but Rowles has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Rowles lands a shot to the head.

Rowles is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Stadelbauer knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Stadelbauer for a finish.

Rowles tries to get the hooks in deep but Stadelbauer pushed the leg off.
Craig Stadelbauer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rowles gets his hands free as Stadelbauer looks to control.

Rowles is cranking Stadelbauer's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Stadelbauer! He's tightened the choke and Stadelbauer is tapping out!
