The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Govatos. That snapped Hopkins's head back.
Govatos throws out a powerful jab.
Hopkins moves forwards but Govatos connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Hopkins explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Hopkins displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Govatos throws out the jab.
Hopkins is looking to counter punch.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Govatos has eaten all the pies!
Govatos stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hopkins.
Govatos lands a really nice looking cross but Hopkins seems unphased.
Govatos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hopkins cracks Govatos with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Jacob Govatos has been cut.
Govatos throws a leg kick
and Hopkins counters with a nice low kick that buckles Govatos's knee momentarily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Govatos throws a right hand that misses
and Hopkins counters with a good, hard body kick but Govatos shrugs it off.
Govatos looks winded!
Hopkins throws a leg kick which misses Govatos's front leg but catches the back leg as Govatos tries to avoid it.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Hopkins - that will leave a mark!
Hopkins lands a nice looking body kick.

Hopkins throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Hopkins throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Govatos stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hopkins.

Hopkins sends Govatos crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hopkins is motioning to the referee to let Govatos up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Govatos takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hopkins buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hopkins connects with a leg kick. Govatos looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hopkins moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A low kick from Govatos is predictable there
and Hopkins counters with a straight right hand.

That has opened up Jacob Govatos's cut even more.
Govatos pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Hopkins lands with a kick to the ribs.
Hopkins throws a leg kick which misses Govatos's front leg but catches the back leg as Govatos tries to avoid it.
Hopkins scores with a jab. Govatos acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

The cut above Jacob Govatos's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Govatos has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Govatos there as he acknowledges the shot.
Govatos walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hopkins.
You can see that Govatos has visibly slowed down as a result of the leg kicks

Hopkins lands a big head kick that sends Govatos tumbling to the mat! Hopkins takes a step backwards and waves Govatos back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Hopkins throws a powerful right kick. Govatos tried to block low but the kick was high! Govatos was taken right off of his feet! Hopkins jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
