The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott throws a head kick that misses.
Scott shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Valentine eats them both and turns towards Scott to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Valentine has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Scott tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Valentine manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Valentine throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Scott on the side of the head.

and Scott counters with a single leg into guard. Valentine didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scott throws an elbow that misses. Valentine uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Scott's guard. Nice move by Valentine!
Scott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Valentine has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Scott to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Valentine is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Scott pulls down on the head and he's put Valentine to sleep! This one is all over!
