Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Modesto Stanton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Dole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Modesto Stanton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bob Dole!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stanton gets caught flat footed, as Dole shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Stanton looking for a guillotine here but Dole defends easily.
Dole trying to control the position from guard on top but Stanton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stanton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Stanton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dole won't allow Stanton to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stanton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Stanton trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Dole pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stanton is keeping the position for now.

Stanton throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Dole gets a takedown into half guard.
Dole is keen to just control but Stanton is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dole is looking to advance position but Stanton won't allow it.
Dole is looking to take a break and control but Stanton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Stanton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stanton tries to get to full guard but Dole has control of the leg.

Stanton is trying to maintain the position but Dole is very close to passing his half guard.
Stanton is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Stanton keeping hold of Dole's head, controlling as best he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dole darts in and clinches Stanton up against the cage.

Stanton is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Stanton turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Stanton manages to end up in side control.

Dole is looking to regain half guard here but Stanton keeps moving and retains side control.
Stanton fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Stanton is chipping away with strikes.
Stanton is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dole's shoulder. That is not cool.
Stanton misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Stanton trying to control the position but Dole is working away.
Dole wants to control but Stanton postures up.
Stanton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dole keeps working.
Stanton takes a little break here. Dole wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stanton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dole keeps working.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bob Dole will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Dole fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stanton sprawls well initially but Dole persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dole seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stanton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Dole has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dole tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stanton knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Dole stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stanton is looking to control Dole's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stanton avoid being mounted?

Stanton controlling the position well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Dole shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stanton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stanton trying to control the position.
Dole looking to sit in guard and control but Stanton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dole wants to sweep but no luck.
Stanton connects with a couple of short punches.
Stanton throwing strikes from guard but Dole blocks nicely.
Stanton wants to control from the top but Dole keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stanton distracts Dole with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Stanton throws a big right hand that misses.
Stanton trying to control the position from guard on top but Dole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dole controlling Stanton's posture.
Stanton throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dole works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Stanton moves into range and clinches up with Dole.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dole is pushing Stanton up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Stanton pulls guard successfully.
Stanton trying to keep a closed guard but Dole is proving a slippery customer.
Dole is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Stanton throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dole postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Dole showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Stanton takes the fight into the clinch.

Stanton manages to break the clinch.
Stanton tries to move into range but Dole moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Stanton clinches with his opponent.

Dole has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Stanton regains guard immediately.

Dole is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Dole escapes and gets back to his feet.

Dole feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dole is looking to work some ground and pound but Stanton has wrist control.
Stanton is trying to keep Dole in close.
Stanton lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.

Stanton is trying to control the position but Dole postures up.
Dole won't allow Stanton to sweep him here.
Stanton being controlled here, momentarily.
Stanton is adopting a defensive guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Stanton moves out of range as Dole throws a body kick.
Stanton was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Stanton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dole takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Stanton controls Dole momentarily but Dole frees himself.
Dole won't allow Stanton to sweep him here.
Dole advances position into side control!
Stanton parries the strikes from Dole easily there. Dole is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stanton to escape.
Stanton trying his best to control but Dole has mounted him.
Dole looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dole jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Stanton is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Stanton and Dole has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Dole tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
A lull in the action here as Dole stalls from top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stanton can't do much from the bottom here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bob Dole comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dole winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
