PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiggle Jiggle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jiggle has chosen Story of My Life - One Direction as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jiggle Jiggle!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jiggle lands with a slapping head kick.
A punch combination from Jiggle misses.
Good exchange - Jiggle coming out on top.
James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jiggle.
Jiggle on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Jiggle is on the wrong end of a nice combination from James.
Jiggle misses with a straight right.
James seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
James lands a jab-cross combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jiggle.

Jiggle gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

James is working Jiggle over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

James is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
James throws a strike but Jiggle rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Jiggle Jiggle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jiggle looks to throw the jab but James is out of range.
James lands with a good body shot.
Jiggle lands with a straight right. James didn't see that one coming.
Jiggle lands a nice looking kick to the body. James takes a step back to recover.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A jab from Jiggle finds it's way through James's defenses.

James throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jiggle was covering up waiting for the punch and James finishes the takedown easily into guard.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Jiggle is retaining full guard.
James keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jiggle's head.
Jiggle throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

James stands up over Jiggle, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jiggle wants to sweep but no luck.

James wants to control from the top but Jiggle keeps moving.
James is stalling in the full guard.
Jiggle throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jiggle throws a wild body kick that James sees coming a mile off.

James looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jiggle tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Ground and pound from James.
James blocks the strikes from Jiggle.
James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
James thows a huge punch but Jiggle dodges it nicely.
Jiggle gets back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jiggle is looking to sweep but instead, James has passed into half guard.
James working over Jiggle with some ground and pound. Jiggle looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Jiggle is trying to control but can't.
James is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Jiggle regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from James.
James with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
James working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jiggle's head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells James's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jiggle striking off his back but it's not causing James any problems.
Jiggle wants to stand and escape but James is having none of it.
James won't allow Jiggle to sweep him here.
James working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jiggle's head.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex James dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


James gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jiggle.
Jiggle throws a sloppy head kick
and James counters with a straight right hand.
Jiggle looks to score with a jab to the body but James is just out of range.

James changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jiggle looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jiggle can't do much from the bottom here.
Jiggle is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but James is staying active.
Jiggle takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Jiggle takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
James looks up at the clock and then as Jiggle takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, James smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
James in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

James has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Jiggle!
James avoids the attempt from Jiggle to control.
Jiggle flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Jiggle tries to reverse the position but James maintains control.

Jiggle is still trying to improve position.
James landing strikes, looking to finish!
Jiggle is in a horrible position here. James smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.


Jiggle is rocked!
Whack. That's a big, big shot from James! Jiggle is out cold! This one is all over!
