The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimbo throws a lazy right hand but Hadid sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hadid tries to clinch but Jimbo moves out of range.
Jimbo looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
No joy there for Hadid, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hadid's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hadid is taking a breather. Jimbo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jimbo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hadid. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jimbo wants to improve his position but Hadid is controlling well.
Hadid seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Hadid decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Hadid shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jimbo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hadid accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hadid stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jimbo to get to his feet.

Jimbo is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Hadid is keeping busy.

Hadid decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Hadid shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jimbo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Hadid changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jimbo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
