PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maciej Zegan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riku Reipas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Riku Reipas!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reipas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zegan throws a big counter combination but Reipas scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Zegan moves in looking to clinch but Reipas pushes him off.
A lazy body kick from Zegan

and Reipas counters with a shoot takedown. Zegan fights it but they end up in guard.
Zegan is wriggling around but Reipas manages to pass to half guard.

Reipas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Zegan is just riding it out for now. Reipas eventually gives up the hold.
Zegan wants to control but Reipas is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reipas maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Zegan could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Reipas has cracked it and Zegan is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Reipas!
