Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hydro Sumo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Valdez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hydro Sumo!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sumo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Valdez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Valdez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sumo throws a sloppy head kick and Valdez moves out of range easily.
Sumo lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Valdez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Valdez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

As Valdez backs off Sumo throws a huge counter combo but Valdez manages to avoid it all.
Valdez steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Sumo. That one must have hurt.
Valdez shoots in and drives through. Sumo sprawls well.
Valdez shoots in for a takedown but Sumo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Sumo is not content to let Valdez control the position.
Sumo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Valdez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Valdez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
