Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mac Alvarado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Bonachon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mac Alvarado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Bonachon!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarado avoids the head kick by Bonachon.

Alvarado drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Alvarado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Alvarado is looking to stand up but Bonachon won't let him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alvarado wants to stand and escape but instead Bonachon has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Bonachon missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alvarado has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Alvarado has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Bonachon is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Bonachon drags the fight down to the ground.
Bonachon is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Alvarado decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bonachon, up you get!

Bonachon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Alvarado on his heels. He'll look to pass Alvarado's guard now, I'm sure.
Alvarado has his hands on Bonachon's head, controlling the position.
Alvarado is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Alvarado really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Alvarado has control of Bonachon's left arm, preventing Bonachon from doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Bonachon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Who's going to make the next move?
Alvarado defending against the ground and pound.
Alvarado is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Alvarado is trying to buck Bonachon off.
Bonachon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alvarado keeps working.

Alvarado is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Alvarado's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Alvarado is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bonachon asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Alvarado gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Bonachon will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Bonachon postures up in Alvarado's guard and throws a big left but Alvarado blocks it.

Alvarado is looking to stand up but Bonachon isn't so interested in that idea.

Alvarado will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Alvarado has control of Bonachon's left arm, preventing Bonachon from doing any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Alvarado closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alvarado lands in his opponent's guard.

Bonachon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Bonachon is working an open guard so Alvarado takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Bonachon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alvarado swats him away and circles back towards the center.
It looked like Alvarado was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Bonachon moves into the clinch successfully.

Bonachon gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Bonachon is trying to control the action in half guard but Alvarado is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Alvarado is controlling Bonachon's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alvarado's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Alvarado wants to get back to his feet.
Alvarado trying to hold on to Bonachon's head to control him but Bonachon postures up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Alvarado is pressing down on Bonachon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Alvarado throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Alvarado is looking to stand up but Bonachon isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Alvarado moves into range and clinches up with Bonachon.
Alvarado tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bonachon just stands there and leans against the cage.

Bonachon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bonachon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Alvarado pushes Bonachon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bonachon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Bonachon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Alvarado is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bonachon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Alvarado is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bonachon is controlling him well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Bonachon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Bonachon wants to control but Alvarado is keeping him busy.

Alvarado is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bonachon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alvarado moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Alvarado shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alvarado showed some decent athleticism there.
Bonachon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bonachon is trying to maintain the position but Alvarado is very close to passing his half guard.

Alvarado decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
A head kick misses from Bonachon.
John Bonachon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alvarado has taken the fight to the clinch.

Alvarado breaks the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Alvarado.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Alvarado stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bonachon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alvarado to the mat! Alvarado manages to get full guard.

Alvarado wriggles free and stands up.
Bonachon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Alvarado is looking for a counter combo.
Bonachon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Alvarado manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
As Bonachon looks to move away, Alvarado throws a big counter combo bu Bonachon just gets out of the way.
Danga de danga de dang - Alvarado scores with a four punch combination!
Alvarado looks to land a left hand but Bonachon moved out of range nicely.
Bonachon avoids a punch combination nicely.

Bonachon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bonachon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Alvarado gets back to half guard.
Alvarado won't allow Bonachon to pass to mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mac Alvarado showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Bonachon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
