Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerrell Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Neftali De La Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Cruz fails with a takedown attempt.
Woods moves to clinch but De La Cruz breaks away
and De La Cruz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
De La Cruz misses the shot to the body.
Neftali De La Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De La Cruz tries to clinch up but Woods circles away and keeps his distance.
Woods attempts a counter takedown but De La Cruz avoids it well and moves away.
Woods shoots for a takedown but De La Cruz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

De La Cruz gets a clinch.
De La Cruz wants to break free but Woods has control.
Woods really is a fat lump.

De La Cruz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

De La Cruz closes the distance and pushes Woods back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Woods jumps guard but De La Cruz turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
De La Cruz can't get the takedown.
Woods is trying to stall.
Woods wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
De La Cruz lands a left hand that snaps the head of Woods backwards.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Woods jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as De La Cruz walks away with a smile on his face. Woods gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerrell Woods. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De La Cruz tries a head kick but it misses.

De La Cruz looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
De La Cruz working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Woods has his foot on De La Cruz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. De La Cruz works his way back into a safe position though.

Woods is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and De La Cruz defends well.

Woods has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but De La Cruz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
De La Cruz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Woods is proving hard to escape from.
De La Cruz advances to half guard.
Woods is trying to stand up here but De La Cruz is controlling him well.

De La Cruz is looking for a kimura here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

De La Cruz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
De La Cruz lands with a punch from half guard.

Woods looking for submissions off his back.

Woods looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Woods wants to get back to full guard.
Woods blocking the ground and pound attempt from De La Cruz.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

De La Cruz drives through and clinches with Woods against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by De La Cruz.
De La Cruz scores with a knee to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neftali De La Cruz dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


De La Cruz connects with a stiff jab that staggers Woods - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Neftali De La Cruz!
