The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dodson misses with a takedown
and Dodson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dodson shoots in and drives through. McGill sprawls well.
McGill went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Dodson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

McGill clinches.
Dodson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by McGill as Dodson tries to tie him up.
Dodson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McGill smiles and moves away.
Bogie McGill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Dodson.
McGill slaps away a takedown attempt from Dodson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dodson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McGill as he jumps to the side.
Dodson closes the distance but McGill moves to the side
and McGill counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

McGill appears to be looking for a big counter.

McGill gets in close and instigates a clinch.
McGill lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
McGill connects with a nasty looking knee right to Dodson's face.

Dodson is rocked!
McGill is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Dodson is still on wobbly legs! Can McGill finish him?

Dodson takes a knee right on the jaw!
McGill works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
McGill lands a big knee to the head and Dodson goes down! McGill pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
