Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quintus Daedalus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bartholomew Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daedalus comes to the cage accompanied by Spartacus Soundtrack. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Quintus Daedalus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bartholomew Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts keeps the fight on the outside.

Roberts throws a shot from downtown. Daedalus moves away and avoids it.

Roberts keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Roberts throws a right hand that Daedalus ducks under and follows up with a left that Daedalus also avoids with ease.

Daedalus cracks Roberts with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Daedalus lands a nice shot to the body.
Daedalus is looking to chop away at Roberts's legs.
Roberts tries to counter by closing the distance.

Roberts tries to close the distance and clinch but Daedalus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Daedalus lands with a nice body punch.
Roberts stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Daedalus.
Daedalus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roberts's waist but Roberts gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Daedalus off to one side.
Daedalus sets himself, and Roberts steps forward looking for the clinch! Daedalus avoids it this time.
A clash of legs there as Daedalus blocks the low kick.
Daedalus keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Roberts takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Daedalus shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Daedalus showed some decent athleticism there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Roberts is looking for a sweep. Daedalus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Roberts has given up his back here. Will Daedalus look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Daedalus slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Daedalus controlling the positon.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Daedalus throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Daedalus slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Roberts can't escape the position.
Roberts is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Daedalus.
Roberts trying to control the hands but Daedalus won't let him.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quintus Daedalus dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Roberts is looking to land body kicks.
Daedalus misses with a takedown attempt - Roberts sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Daedalus shoots in looking for a takedown. Roberts tries to sprawl out of it but Daedalus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roberts manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Roberts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Daedalus appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Daedalus misses with a wild body shot.
Daedalus takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

and Roberts counters with a right hand to the body.

and Roberts counters with a series of strikes. Daedalus will be more careful next time no doubt.
Roberts lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Quintus Daedalus has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Daedalus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Roberts sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Daedalus somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quintus Daedalus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Daedalus goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Roberts lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Roberts lands with an overhand left.
Bartholomew Roberts is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Daedalus scores with a jab to the jaw.
Roberts lands a body shot.
Bartholomew Roberts is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Roberts pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Daedalus back to the cage. Roberts follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Roberts enables Daedalus to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Roberts manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Daedalus slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Roberts uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Daedalus throws a leg kick but Roberts sees it coming and moves out of range.
Roberts looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Roberts is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Daedalus rather than just go for the knockout.

Roberts is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Roberts tries to bum rush Daedalus with a series of wild strikes but Daedalus uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Daedalus looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Roberts throws a big counter head kick but Daedalus avoids it with no problem.

Daedalus waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Roberts. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Roberts to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Daedalus wants to stand and escape but instead Roberts has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Roberts is still in real trouble! Can Daedalus finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daedalus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Roberts seems to have recovered his senses.
Daedalus seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Daedalus is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Roberts can do to turn this around?
Daedalus's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That was a close second round but I would say that Quintus Daedalus will probably get the nod.

That's time! Daedalus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

and Daedalus counters with a single leg into guard. Roberts didn't expect that.
We've been hearing good reports from Daedalus's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Quintus Daedalus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Still in half guard, Daedalus seems content to control.

Daedalus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bartholomew Roberts has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Roberts won't allow Daedalus to pass to mount.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Daedalus misses the target.
Roberts ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Quintus Daedalus is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

A little jabbing left from Roberts on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Roberts blocks a head kick by Daedalus.
Daedalus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A chopping leg kick lands by Daedalus.
Roberts throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Daedalus has a takedown stuffed.
Roberts misses with a straight left.

Daedalus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Roberts prevents Daedalus from moving into mount.
Roberts keeping his opponent close.
Daedalus moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Daedalus tries to move to mount but Roberts blocks the move with his legs.
Roberts seems a little lost for a moment, as Daedalus dominates the positioning.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Daedalus wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Roberts, who protects the arm well.
Roberts stops Daedalus from passing to mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Quintus Daedalus showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Daedalus has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Quintus Daedalus opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
