Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hobert Salinas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taylor Dam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor Dam is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hobert Salinas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Taylor Dam!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dam fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dam looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Salinas closes the distance and clinches.
Salinas taking a breather.
Salinas tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dam just stands there and leans against the cage.

Salinas has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dam uses from the top position.

Salinas has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Dam is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Salinas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salinas wants to get back to full guard.
Salinas is looking to control Dam's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Salinas avoid being mounted?
Dam has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Salinas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dam on the ground.

and Dam counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Salinas is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Salinas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Salinas throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Dam wants to get back to his feet.
We've been informed that Dam has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Salinas is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dam has managed to free his arm - good work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Salinas looks to land a combination. Dam sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Dam moves in looking to clinch but Salinas pushes him off.
As Dam tries to get set, Salinas tries to push him back and clinch up but Dam manages to avoid the attempt.

Salinas is pushing Dam up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Dam gets control of Salinas's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dam will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Salinas wants to stand but Dam has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Salinas postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Dam has his hands on Salinas's head, controlling the position.

Salinas gets to his feet. Dam looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Dam gets caught napping as Salinas dives in and scores a takedown. Dam manages to retain guard.

Salinas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dam tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

You can see the frustration on Dam's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Salinas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Salinas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dam is looking to reverse the position.
Dam keeps trying to improve his position.

Salinas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dam is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dam wants to get back to his feet but Salinas drags him back down.
Salinas trying to control the position but Dam is working away.

Salinas stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Salinas shoots in for a double leg but Dam sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Salinas looking to score a takedown here. Dam is defending well but Salinas drives through and ends up in Dam's guard.
Dam is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
