Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Snijder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark Kent has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Brandon Snijder's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brandon Snijder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clark Kent!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent dives in for a single leg takedown but Snijder sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kent or perhaps it was just good defense by Snijder, which made it look bad.
Snijder appears to be looking for a big counter.
Kent misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A quick step to the side and Snijder tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brandon Snijder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clark Kent.

Snijder tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Snijder has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snijder is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kent is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Snijder definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Kent is trying to get back to half guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kent holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kent can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kent tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Snijder tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Kent parries the strikes from Snijder easily there. Snijder is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kent to escape.

Snijder gets to mount! Kent was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Snijder has control of Kent's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kent regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Snijder goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kent turns into him and now he's in Snijder's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kent makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Kent postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Kent throws an elbow that misses. Snijder uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kent's guard. Nice move by Snijder!

Kent told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Kent darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Snijder regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kent must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Snijder is pushing down on Kent's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kent is fighting to maintain full guard but Snijder has managed to sneak the leg through.

Snijder is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kent is just riding it out for now. Snijder eventually gives up the hold.
Kent wants to get back to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Snijder is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Snijder is looking for a kimura but Kent is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Snijder to get the leverage.

Kent avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Snijder.

Snijder is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kent doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Snijder.

Kent is defending against the submission attempts here by Snijder.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kent is trying to maintain the position but Snijder is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Snijder looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kent changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Snijder looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Clark Kent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Kent changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Snijder tries to avoid it but Kent manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Snijder to the ground. Snijder escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Snijder drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kent sprawls and moves away.

Kent closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Snijder quickly recovers to half guard.
Kent not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Snijder wants to control but Kent is keeping busy.
Kent throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Snijder to regain full guard.

Snijder is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kent is in close to Snijder's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Snijder is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Snijder swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kent lands a couple of elbows.
Kent postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kent postures up in Snijder's guard and throws a big left but Snijder blocks it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kent working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kent feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kent is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Kent is working Snijder over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Snijder is looking to advance position but Kent has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Snijder takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Kent! Snijder is hurt baaadly! Kent is firing away with more strikes - Snijder is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
