The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loss fails with a takedown attempt.
Barbosa now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Loss doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Barbosa lands a jab to the head.

Barbosa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Loss to the mat! Loss manages to get full guard.
Barbosa won't allow Loss to sweep him here.
Barbosa wants to pass the guard but Loss is keeping the position.

Loss is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Barbosa cracks Loss with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Barbosa lands a nice looking body shot.
Barbosa lands with an uppercut that bounces Loss off the cage and back into range.
Barbosa connects with a body shot that sends Loss's belly button to the back.
Loss drops his hands momentarily and Barbosa takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Barbosa connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Loss's hands.

Barbosa looks to land a combination but Loss avoids it well.
Barbosa works over Loss's head and body with a nice combination.
Loss throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barbosa's waist but Barbosa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Loss off to one side.
The crowd cheers as Barbosa lands an impressive looking overhand right. Loss doesn't seem phased though.
Loss uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barbosa.
Loss throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barbosa's waist but Barbosa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Loss off to one side.
Barbosa lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
A left lands for Barbosa.

Loss is rocked!
Loss darts in looking for a takedown but Barbosa gets double underhooks and turns Loss into the cage.
Oh Loss is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Barbosa is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Loss had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Loss dives in and grabs Barbosa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barbosa pushes down on Loss's head and hops out.
Loss seems to have got his legs back now.
Randy Loss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Loss has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Barbosa finds it's way round the side to connect with Loss's head.
Barbosa stuffs the takedown.
Loss shoots for a takedown but Barbosa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Barbosa drops Loss with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Loss! Barbosa dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
