The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Macdonald misses.
McHail connects with the punch.
Macdonald misses with an uppercut
and McHail counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
McHail lands with a good body shot.

McHail drops Macdonald with a beautiful combination! Macdonald stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - McHail is looking for the KO!

Macdonald is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Macdonald looks for a takedown but McHail sprawls well.
Macdonald is still on wobbly legs! Can McHail finish him?

Macdonald looking to score a takedown here. McHail is defending well but Macdonald drives through and ends up in McHail's guard.
Macdonald postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Macdonald seems to have recovered his senses.
McHail wants to stand up but Macdonald is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Macdonald postures up in McHail's guard and throws a big left but McHail blocks it.
Macdonald throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Macdonald is working McHail over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

McHail got a little sloppy there for a moment and Macdonald has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McHail has managed to get both his arms back between Macdonald's legs - danger averted.
