The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Akki gets a clinch.

Akki throws a punch but it's blocked by Foley.
Akki lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Foley backwards.

Foley swings wildly with an uppercut but Akki uses good head movement to avoid it.
Akki wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Foley has him pressed against the cage.

Akki digs a right hand underneath Foley's ribcage. Foley let out a lung full of air as it connected.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Akki creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Foley is trying to push Akki away but Akki has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

I was talking to Foley's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Akki bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Akki circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Foley drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Akki follows Foley to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Our winner, Terry Akki, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
The defeated Conan Foley had this to say: 'Ahhh what the feck do you want me to tell ya? Not sure if I was beat by the 2 bottles of Jemmie I drunk last night or if this guy is really that good. He took my shots and stayed awake, so he's a tough sonofabitch and I'll tip my hat, but watch yer arse son I'll be back and I don`t forget a face.'.
