PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gregg Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buns Burglar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burglar comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Here Comes the Money kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gregg Munoz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buns Burglar!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Munoz shoots in and gets a takedown into Burglar's guard.
Munoz won't allow Burglar to sweep him here.
Munoz throwing strikes from guard but Burglar blocks nicely.
Burglar is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Munoz content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Munoz lands a couple of digs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Munoz throws a big elbow that misses.
Burglar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Burglar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Munoz!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burglar working the body and head with strikes.

Burglar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Munoz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Burglar trying to control the position but Munoz is working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Munoz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Burglar misses with the ground and pound.
Burglar is putting a hurting on Munoz here, landing some big shots from side control.

Burglar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Munoz, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Munoz misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Munoz takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Munoz managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Burglar.
Munoz is looking for a sweep.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Munoz throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Burglar should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Burglar tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Burglar is looking to take a break and control but Munoz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Munoz is looking for a sweep.

Burglar goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Munoz has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Burglar but great work by Munoz.

Munoz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Burglar manages to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Burglar is pressing down on Munoz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Burglar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Burglar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Munoz is aware though and is defending well.
Burglar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Burglar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Burglar throws a strike but Munoz avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buns Burglar dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Munoz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Burglar is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Munoz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Munoz's back!
Buns Burglar has got the better of the ground game so far.
Burglar controlling well, preventing Munoz from escaping the position.
Munoz takes a big shot to the side of the head.

Burglar has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Munoz is defending well but eventually Burglar manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Munoz has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Buns Burglar!
