Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jarvis Langley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dave Davidson!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davidson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Langley backs up against the cage.
Davidson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Davidson moves into the clinch successfully.

Davidson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Langley regains guard.
Langley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Langley wants to stand but Davidson is controlling the position.
Davidson with a flurry of punches that miss.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davidson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Davidson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Davidson looking to sit in guard and control but Langley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Langley wants to control from the top but Davidson keeps moving.
Davidson has a closed guard, preventing Langley from standing up.

Davidson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Langley gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Davidson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Davidson looks winded!
Langley wants to sweep here but Davidson controlling him for the moment.
Langley is working hard here to advance position.
Langley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Langley is on top in guard.

Langley won't allow Davidson to get back to his feet.

Langley stands up and waves to Davidson to follow him.
Davidson lands a jab-cross combination.
Langley dodges the punch combination from Davidson.

Langley throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Davidson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Langley is in Davidson's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Langley wants to control from the top but Davidson keeps moving.

Davidson wants to sweep but no luck.
Langley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davidson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Langley in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Davidson working a defensive guard but Langley passes into half guard.
Langley content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davidson is looking to get back to full guard here but Langley has managed to pass to side control instead.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Langley is looking to take a break and control but Davidson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Langley controls the position from side control.
Langley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davidson keeps working.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dave Davidson will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Langley has Davidson up against the cage in a clinch.
Langley is trying to maintain a safe position but Davidson gets an underhook and turns Langley into the cage.
Langley lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Davidson has picked Langley up - he's going for a ride! Davidson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Langley manages to get to full guard.
Langley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Davidson manages to get himself to full guard.

Davidson is trying to control the position but Langley postures up.
Davidson is breathing heavily.
Davidson wants to stand up but Langley is controlling him.
Davidson keeping moving, preventing Langley from controlling successfully.
Langley would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Langley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davidson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Langley wanted to stand there but Davidson had control of the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Davidson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Davidson cracks Langley with a big right hand but Langley just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Langley is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Davidson has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Davidson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Langley manages to work his way to half guard, despite Davidson's best efforts.
Langley tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Langley tries to kick Davidson off but Davidson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Langley is trying to control but can't.
Langley is trying to stand up here but Davidson is controlling him well.
Davidson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Davidson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Davidson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Davidson is in close to Langley's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Langley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davidson is one step ahead there.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Davidson distracts Langley with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Davidson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Davidson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Langley slips a jab and a cross from Davidson.
It looked like Langley was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Davidson.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Langley enables Davidson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Langley manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Langley lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Langley drops back looking for a leg! Davidson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davidson manages to kick Langley off! Langley jumps back into Davidson's guard.
Langley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Davidson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Langley trying to control the position from guard on top but Davidson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Langley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Davidson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Langley is one step ahead there.

Langley wants to get up but he can't break Davidson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Langley wants to clinch.

Davidson is working Langley over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Davidson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Langley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Davidson works over Langley with some ground and pound from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Langley striking off his back but it's not causing Davidson any problems.
Davidson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Davidson is working Langley over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Davidson throws a strike but Langley rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Dave Davidson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Davidson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
