Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Potlach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Dos Velas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Trevor Potlach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Dos Velas!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Velas wants to clinch.
Potlach tries to clinch there but Dos Velas circles away.
Potlach tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dos Velas swivels and escapes.
Potlach misses with a wild combination.
Potlach scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
A head kick misses from Potlach.
Dos Velas closes the distance looking to clinch

and Potlach counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Dos Velas trying to control from the bottom.
Dos Velas wants to get back to his feet.
It looks like Potlach is going to stand back up.

Dos Velas looks like he's trying to stand up.
Potlach has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Dos Velas works to full guard.

Potlach stays in close to Dos Velas's body and controls the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Potlach shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Dos Velas trying to control here.
Potlach tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dos Velas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dos Velas wants to get back to his feet.

Potlach wants to stand up but Dos Velas is controlling the position.

Dos Velas wants to control but Potlach is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dos Velas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

and Potlach counters with a single leg into guard. Dos Velas didn't expect that.

Dos Velas doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Potlach counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Potlach showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Potlach knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dos Velas on the ground.

Potlach wants to control from the top but Dos Velas keeps moving.

Potlach decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dos Velas, up you get!
Potlach tries for a takedown but Dos Velas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dos Velas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Dos Velas has taken the fight to the clinch.

Potlach breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dos Velas misses with a body shot

and Potlach counters by moving into the clinch.
Potlach creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dos Velas's defenses.
Potlach lands a nice uppercut.
Potlach unloads a knee to the mid-section. Dos Velas lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Potlach stalls.

Dos Velas gets underhooks to prevent Potlach's takedown attempt.
Dos Velas is working for takedown but Potlach is calmly controlling the position for now.
Trevor Potlach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Dos Velas.
Potlach is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dos Velas pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Potlach is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dos Velas gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Potlach has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dos Velas is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Potlach is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dos Velas pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Dos Velas wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Potlach has him pressed against the cage.

Potlach is trying to drag Dos Velas to the mat but Dos Velas just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Dos Velas wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Potlach breaks the clinch.

Potlach escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dos Velas slips a jab and a cross from Potlach.
Potlach stuffs the takedown attempt from Dos Velas. Dos Velas gets slowly back to his feet.
Dos Velas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Potlach tries to avoid it but Dos Velas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Potlach to the ground. Potlach escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Potlach shoots in but Dos Velas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dos Velas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Potlach swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dos Velas shoots in and drives through. Potlach sprawls well.
Potlach shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dos Velas pinned against the cage. Dos Velas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dos Velas is looking to clinch but Potlach is avoiding it.

Potlach takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Dos Velas closes the distance and clinches up with Potlach, looking for a takedown. Dos Velas pushes Potlach against the cage but Potlach circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Potlach tries to pull guard but Dos Velas holds him up against the cage and eventually Potlach drops back down to his feet.

Potlach lands a left hand that snaps the head of Dos Velas backwards.

Potlach escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Potlach shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dos Velas as he jumps to the side.

Horrible takedown by Dos Velas or perhaps it was just good defense by Potlach which made him look bad.

Dos Velas lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Dos Velas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Potlach swivels and escapes.

Potlach stuffs the takedown.
Potlach lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Potlach will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Potlach shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dos Velas tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Potlach gets in close and instigates a clinch.

A right hook to the body lands for Potlach.

Potlach pulls guard effortlessly.
Dos Velas passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Potlach wants to get back to his feet but Dos Velas drags him back down.
Potlach is trying to improve his position.
Dos Velas tries to score with some ground and pound. Potlach controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Dos Velas has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Potlach avoids the head kick by Dos Velas.
