Hartlock's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Back in Black. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brett Hartlock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronaldo Souza!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hartlock as he avoids it easily.
Souza fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hartlock cracks Souza with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


It looks like Ronaldo Souza has been cut.
Souza is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hartlock sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Brett Hartlock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronaldo Souza.
The crowd cheers as Hartlock lands an impressive looking overhand right. Souza doesn't seem phased though.
Hartlock with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Souza dives in and grabs Hartlock's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hartlock pushes down on Souza's head and hops out.
Souza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hartlock's waist but Hartlock gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Souza off to one side.
Hartlock is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Souza.
Souza tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Souza shoots in and drives through. Hartlock sprawls well.
Souza has a takedown stuffed.
Souza fails with the takedown.
Hartlock appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Hartlock lands a body shot.
Hartlock misses with a wild body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Souza is defended easily by Hartlock.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Souza feints and as Hartlock raises his hands in defense, Souza changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hartlock bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Souza's guard.

Souza keeping moving, preventing Hartlock from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hartlock's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hartlock sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Souza wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and Hartlock has taken Souza's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and Souza has been forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Brett Hartlock!
After the big win, Brett Hartlock made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors DC Unrivaled and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
