Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ivan Milat!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kees Flodder!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Flodder does no damage.
Flodder keeps the fight on the outside.

Milat connects with a right hand. Flodder shakes it off.
Milat throws a half hearted mid kick.
Flodder walks forward, straight into a front kick from Milat.

Milat looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Milat swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Flodder looks for a takedown but Milat sprawls well.

Flodder feints and as Milat raises his hands in defense, Flodder changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
My spies in NexGen Fight Team inform me that Flodder has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

It looks like Ivan Milat has been cut.

Good leg kick by Milat there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Milat throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Flodder throws a right and a left that Milat avoids nicely.
Milat seems to have got his legs back now.

Flodder closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Milat to the mat! Milat manages to get full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Flodder shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Milat but Milat pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Milat lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Flodder is still on wobbly legs! Can Milat finish him?
Milat lands a brutal head kick. Flodder looks out on his feet and Milat throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
