PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian Sproles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lancett Cridle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sproles comes into the arena with Drones blaring out of the sound system. Cridle has chosen Counterfeit by Limp Bizkit as his entrance music. Brian Sproles had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Lancett Cridle enters the cage!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sproles misses with a series of wild punches.
Some wild striking there from Sproles.
Cridle checks a low kick from Sproles.
Sproles fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Sproles has managed to clinch.
Cridle tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sproles just stands there and leans against the cage.
Sproles is trying to break free.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sproles prevents a takedown attempt there.
Cridle tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Brian Sproles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lancett Cridle.
Cridle can't get the takedown.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cridle tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sproles smiles and moves away.
Sproles misses with the combination.
Cridle slips under a jab from Sproles.
No joy there for Sproles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sproles misses with a double jab.
Sproles stuffs the takedown attempt from Cridle. Cridle gets slowly back to his feet.
Sproles throws a right hand that Cridle ducks under and follows up with a left that Cridle also avoids with ease.
A combination from Sproles does no damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Cridle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sproles is in trouble now - Cridle has advanced to mount!
Cridle throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Sproles because Cridle loaded up on that one.
Cridle scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Sproles wants to hold on but Cridle pushes him away.
Sproles could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Cridle quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Cridle but it's paid off an Sproles is forced to tap! Nice work by Cridle.
