Brandao comes to the cage accompanied by Work Hard, Play Hard. Hughes has chosen Country boy can survive as his entrance music. Jose Brandao has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

It looks like Jose Brandao has been cut.
Brandao scores with a sloppy right hand. Hughes should have avoided that one.
Hughes takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Brandao with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Brandao on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Brandao buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hughes is looking to score with low kicks.
Brandao wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Hughes throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Brandao keeps Hughes at a distance using the push kick.
Hughes looks to land a left hand but Brandao moved out of range nicely.
Ratt Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hughes drops Brandao with a left right combo! Hughes follows him down to the ground into side control.

Brandao is rocked!
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hughes working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Hughes scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Brandao is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Hughes can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
