Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leevi Nikkola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robin Jernquist!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Jernquist with that takedown attempt.
Nikkola moves out of range of the strikes.
Jernquist misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jernquist tries to clinch up but Nikkola circles away and keeps his distance.
Jernquist tries to bum rush Nikkola with a series of wild strikes but Nikkola uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Robin Jernquist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jernquist looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jernquist throws a right hand that Nikkola ducks under and follows up with a left that Nikkola also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nikkola throws a nice looking combination but Jernquist bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Nikkola decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jernquist's guard.
Jernquist has momentary wrist control but Nikkola slips an elbow through the middle.

Nikkola makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jernquist can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nikkola decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jernquist, up you get!

and Nikkola counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nikkola is working for a kimura but Jernquist is defending it quite comfortably.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nikkola looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jernquist with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Nikkola in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Jernquist tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Nikkola!
