Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Donte Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaime Freitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jaime Freitas has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Donte Hogan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Donte Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jaime Freitas!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogan tries to clinch but Freitas is having none of it.

Freitas clinches up against the cage.
Freitas is pushing Hogan up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Freitas pulls guard successfully.
Hogan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Freitas can do anything to dispel that myth.
Freitas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Freitas misses with a head shot. Hogan uses the momentum to regain guard.
Freitas wants to stand but Hogan is controlling his posture from full guard.

Freitas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hogan wants to control from the top but Freitas keeps moving.
Freitas has a closed guard, preventing Hogan from standing up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Freitas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hogan wants to get up but he can't break Freitas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Freitas throws a solid leg kick but Hogan takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Freitas.

Freitas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Freitas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hogan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Freitas taking a break here but Hogan is having none of it and regains half guard.

Freitas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hogan is looking for a sweep. Freitas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hogan wants to control but Freitas is keeping busy.
Freitas is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A head kick misses from Freitas.

Freitas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Freitas wants to control from the top but Hogan keeps moving.

Freitas drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hogan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Freitas has Hogan in his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hogan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hogan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hogan gets caught flat footed, as Freitas shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Freitas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hogan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hogan has escaped and now he's on top!

Jaime Freitas is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hogan is fighting to break Freitas's control of his arms but Freitas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well Freitas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
