Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jim Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makowski Brewer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makowski Brewer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Makowski Brewer!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brewer misses with an uppercut
and Murphy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Brewer has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Murphy throws a right hand that Brewer ducks under and follows up with a left that Brewer also avoids with ease.
Murphy looks to land a combination. Brewer sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Murphy ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Brewer misses with a hook
and Brewer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Murphy lands a body shot.
Brewer shoots in looking for a takedown. Murphy tries to sprawl out of it but Brewer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Murphy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Murphy lands with a straight right. Brewer didn't see that one coming.
Murphy darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Murphy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brewer was well out of range. Poor timing from Murphy.

Makowski Brewer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brewer shoots in and bounces Murphy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Murphy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Jim Murphy was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Makowski Brewer spoke after the fight, saying 'This fight isn't over until my opponent tests negative for performance-enhancing drugs...and given his troubled past in that regard, I'm confident the fight will be declared a No-Contest.'.
