Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atte Peltola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan comes to the cage accompanied by Nirvana - The Man Who Sold the World. Peltola has chosen Biggest & The Best as his entrance music. Atte Peltola has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Genghis Khan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Genghis Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Atte Peltola!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Peltola catches Khan right on the button with a cross.

and Khan counters with a nice uppercut.
Peltola throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Khan was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
We've been told by Khan's head coaches at LOD: Top Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Peltola scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Khan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Peltola loads up on a big right hand but Khan slips the punch.
Nice uppercut lands for Peltola. That snapped Khan's head back.

Peltola ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Khan moves away.

and Khan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Khan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Peltola.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Khan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Khan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peltola sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Khan somewhat.

Peltola slaps away a takedown attempt from Khan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Khan does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Horrible takedown attempt by Khan or perhaps it was just good defense by Peltola, which made it look bad.

That was a close second round but I would say that Genghis Khan will probably get the nod.

Peltola fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Khan sprawls well initially but Peltola persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Khan tries to roll over but Peltola keeps him under control.
Peltola looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Khan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peltola thows a huge punch but Khan dodges it nicely.
Khan wants to improve his position but Peltola is controlling well.
Peltola wants to lay and pray for a moment but Khan keeps working.

Peltola stalling away here and it's allowed Khan to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Khan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peltola can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Khan wants to sweep but no luck.
Peltola lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Khan has his foot on Peltola's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Peltola works his way back into a safe position though.
