Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Illias Illiadis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Snuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snuka comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Superfly by Curtis Mayfield kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Illias Illiadis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Snuka!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Illiadis connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A big left from Snuka misses.
Illiadis with a hook.
Illiadis pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Snuka drives through with a takedown into Illiadis's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Snuka makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Snuka working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Snuka looking to sit in guard and control but Illiadis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Snuka has his foot on Illiadis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Illiadis works his way back into a safe position though.
Illiadis works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Illiadis passes the guard and advances to mount!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Illiadis is looking to work his way around to Snuka's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Illiadis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Snuka keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Snuka prevents Illiadis from taking his back.

Illiadis working for a guillotine from mount but Snuka is in no mood to give up.
Snuka is looking to improve his position but Illiadis isn't that keen on the idea.
Snuka is squirming around, avoiding Illiadis's attempts to control the action.
Snuka is trying to escape the mount.
Snuka sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Illiadis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Snuka knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Illiadis uses his free foot to push down on Snuka's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Snuka.
We've been hearing good reports from Illiadis's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Snuka tries to reverse the position but Illiadis maintains control.
Illiadis looking to control but Snuka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Snuka is wriggling around trying to escape.
Snuka bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Illiadis pulls Snuka in close to his closed guard and prevents Snuka from doing any damage or advancing position.

Illiadis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Snuka is aware though and is defending well.
Snuka distracts Illiadis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Snuka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Illiadis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Illiadis has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Snuka should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Illiadis has tightened it up now! Snuka should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
