The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stallings tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Martins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Martins was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Martins appears to be looking for a big counter.
Martins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stallings moves away.
Martins looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Stallings drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Martins defends it well.

Pierre Martins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Martins has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Stallings throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martins's waist but Martins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stallings off to one side.
Pierre Martins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Stallings.

Stallings is rocked!
Martins lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Stallings head around and knocks him out cold! Martins hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
