The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira tries to bum rush Rock with a series of wild strikes but Rock uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rock tries to clinch up.
The Rock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nogueira manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rock on his heels. He'll look to pass Rock's guard now, I'm sure.
Rock will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Rock throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Nogueira is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Nogueira slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Rock.

Nogueira turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Rock tries to bench press Nogueira off him but Nogueira keeps the position.

Nogueira is looking to take a break and control but Rock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nogueira lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rock down.

The ground and pound from Nogueira seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Nogueira has knee on belly and moves into mount.
