Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Denis Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stevenson comes to the cage accompanied by Biggie Hypnotize. Denis Stevenson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones lands a jab to Stevenson's midsection.
Jones darts in looking for a takedown but Stevenson gets double underhooks and turns Jones into the cage.
Jones lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Jones lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Stevenson dodges the punch combination from Jones.

Stevenson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jones quickly recovers to half guard.
Jones is not content to let Stevenson control the position.
Jones looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jones desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Stevenson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Stevenson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jones is concentrating on defense, preventing Stevenson from advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stevenson prevents Jones from standing back up.
Stevenson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jones darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Stevenson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Stevenson wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.

Jones is doing well to control the position and prevent Stevenson from advancing to side control.

Stevenson stops Jones from getting back to his feet.

Jones seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Jones lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Jones connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Stevenson momentarily.
Stevenson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Stevenson shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well.
Stevenson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stevenson off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Denis Stevenson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones jabs Stevenson right on the nose. Stevenson blinks but takes it well.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jones bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Stevenson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stevenson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jones is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Stevenson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Stevenson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stevenson closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Stevenson pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jones lands a right hook to the body.

Stevenson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes.
Jones wants to counter the offense by Stevenson and move into the clinch position.

Nice uppercut there from Jones.
Nice takedown defense from Stevenson. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
Stevenson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Jones is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Jones uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Jones closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Jones scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jones tries to clinch up but Stevenson circles away and keeps his distance.
Stevenson keeps the fight on the outside.
Jones is looking to clinch but Stevenson is avoiding it.

Jones connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Stevenson takes one to the side of the head.
Stevenson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Stevenson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
A nice combination there by Jones.
Jones connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Stevenson's hands.
Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.
Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Stevenson is rocked!
Mike Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stevenson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Oh Stevenson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones pounces like a tiger and cracks Stevenson with a vicious hook! Stevenson is down but not out! Jones follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
