Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tom Henry!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Henry closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Henry lands in his opponent's guard.

Vasilyev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Henry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Henry loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Vasilyev has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Henry postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vasilyev is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Henry, into his guard.

Henry throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

We've been informed that Henry has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Vasilyev is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Vasilyev wants to control from the top but Henry keeps moving.
Vasilyev not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Vasilyev is pushing down on Henry's leg trying to pass to half guard. Henry is fighting to maintain full guard but Vasilyev has managed to sneak the leg through.

Vasilyev seems to be looking for submissions.
Vasilyev is trying to control the action in half guard but Henry is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Henry pushes Vasilyev off but Vasilyev dives into side control.
Henry tries to buck Vasilyev off but Vasilyev is having none of it.
Henry manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Henry wants to sweep here but Vasilyev controlling him for the moment.
