Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keijo Virtanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Virtanen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Maamme Laulu. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bryan Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Keijo Virtanen!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Sandra Marshall and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin tries to close the distance and clinch but Virtanen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Virtanen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Martin quickly recovers to half guard.
Virtanen content to control rather than advance.
Virtanen uses his free foot to push down on Martin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Martin.
Virtanen avoids the attempt from Martin to control.
Virtanen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Virtanen has control of Martin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Martin regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Virtanen working for a guillotine from mount but Martin is in no mood to give up.

Virtanen is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Martin to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Martin shrugs it off.
Virtanen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Martin is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Virtanen looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Martin throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Virtanen moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Martin has worked his arm free - good work by Martin!
Virtanen slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Martin.
Virtanen with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Virtanen is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Martin is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Martin flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Virtanen anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Martin and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Virtanen slips an arm under Martin chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Virtanen has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Virtanen is squeezing on Martin like an anaconda would it's prey. Martin fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Keijo Virtanen!
